Heel Spur

HEEL SPUR

Heel spurs are typically observed in individuals with high soles (pes cavus). The causes include transitioning from an active to a sedentary lifestyle or vice versa, as well as gaining and losing excessive weight. It is a condition that affects our quality of life by causing walking difficulties beyond the age of 40.

SYMPTOMS

Sharp, stabbing pains in the heel while taking the first step out of bed in the morning; stabbing pains throughout the day; inflammation or edema of the heel.

TREATMENT

The calcaneus bone in our heel is the biggest bone in the foot. It has a circular form with a pointy tip. When the plantar fasciitis muscle in our foot loses its flexibility, we experience intense pain because we can feel our calcaneus bone when we step on the ground. The person must use the proper insoles and slippers in order to restore the flexibility of the plantar fasciitis muscle and relieve pressure on the heel area. In this way, it is ensured that the calcaneus bone, which has sagged downwards, is gradually returned to its proper position. As a result, the person is relaxed and lives a pain-free, pleasant life.

Cortisone injection and surgery are extremely wrong, as they only provide temporary relief before the complaints reoccur.
